The bulk of the aircraft has not been located, prompting many theories about its disappearance.

Is this flaperon from missing flight MH370?
French authorities confirmed it was from MH370 shortly afterward. “It is now possible to state with certainty that the flaperon found on July 29, 2015 corresponds to the flight MH370,” NBC News reported investigators said in a statement.
