Yes the MSR does not have all the features of the Romeo5 red dot like the extra low mount, motion activation, longer battery life, and the use of a more common battery. However where the MSR red dot shines is in its simplicity. It is very easy to install with the tool provided and has very clear glass for a red dot.

How does the night vision work on the Romeo Msr? N1 and N2 do nothing in the dark. The NV settings on any optic change the brightness so when the optic is being used in conjunction with night vision, the dot is not to bright.
