What is a sintering oven?

A sintering furnace is used during the sintering process, which involves heating powder compacts to increase the product’s mechanical strength, density, and translucency. Sintering ovens must be able to maintain heating temperatures below the product’s melting point, as the goal is not to liquefy the material.

What is high temperature sintering furnace?

A high-temperature sintering furnace typically runs 100 to 250 degrees hotter than one used for regular sintering. The difference may seem small, but it has fascinating implications for component properties, operating costs, and furnace construction.

Which temperature zones are in operation inside the sintering furnace?

(Köykkä 2000) The sintering furnace can be divided into seven different sections, see Figure 2. The sections are drying zone (390 ◦ C), heating zone (1190 ◦ C), sintering zone (1350 ◦ C), leveling zone, and cooling zones I-III (1250 ◦ C, 1180 ◦ C, 520 ◦ C).
