Where is the RPO code on a Chevy?

The RPO Codes can be found on a placard labeled “Service Parts Identification” in the glove box, on the trunk floor or inside the driver’s door panel.

What is the difference between 3.73 and 4.10 gear ratio?

For example, if the ring gear has 37 teeth and the pinion gear has 9 teeth, the ratio is 4.11:1. So for every turn of the ring gear, the pinion will turn 4.11 times. Additionally, with a gear ratio of 3.73, the pinion will turn 3.73 times for one turn of the ring gears, and for a 4.10, the pinion will turn 4.10 times.

What is a 3.42 rear axle ratio?

Axle ratios may be expressed in notation as something along the lines of “3.42:1,” or a “3.42 rear axle.” In either case, it essentially means the drive shaft and pinion need to rotate 3.42 times in order to rotate the axle shafts once.

Do bigger tires change gear ratio?

When changing gears for taller tires, you are heading to a numerically higher gear ratio. The higher the gear ratio, the smaller the pinion gear.

Is a 3.42 rear end good for towing?

3.43 is a gearing designed for fuel economy not towing. You would probably struggle on the slightest hill. I would not consider anything less than the 3.73 with the 5.3 motor.

What is the difference between a 3.23 and 3.42 gears?

3.23 will be better suited to highway cruising and better fuel economy. 3.42 for better acceleration and better towing performance.

Are there a lot of mods for the Impala?

Idk why ppl are saying there isn’t alot of mods, there are quite alot of mods for the 3.6l impala, most are on the overkill website. I’ve been around this stuff a long time, you’d mostly be wasting money thinking bolt-ons are adding power.

How to make my Impala more powerful?

Click that overkil link it brings you to the impala upgrade section I’ve been around this stuff a long time, you’d mostly be wasting money thinking bolt-ons are adding power. A tune will make the car feel more powerful and aggressive, all you have to do is reduce or turn off torque management and massage shift points.

How fast is a 9th Gen Impala?

A midish 13 second impala is unreal when the 9th gens weigh 3900lbs. Looks like an old man car. These cars are way faster than k20/k24 civics with bolt ons, raced all the locals never lost.
