Can you use potting soil in EarthBox?
For the very best results, we recommend you use EarthBox® Potting Mix, made specifically for the EarthBox® gardening system.
Can you overwater EarthBox?
No. The EarthBox has been designed so that you can’t over-water and the only way to under-water is to let the water reservoir run dry. Remember, plants are taking the exact amount of water they need from the reservoir… no more and no less.
Do you need dolomite in EarthBox?
When you first set up your EarthBox® gardening system, we recommend using dolomite to add calcium and magnesium to the growing media to help raise the pH and combat Blossom End Rot (BER).
How many plants can you put in an EarthBox?
For example, when growing eggplants in an EarthBox® Original, we recommend planting 2 plants per box, and for peppers it’s 6; so, if you want to grow eggplants and peppers in one box, you would plant 1 eggplant and 3 peppers. Try to combine plants that have the same growth rate.
How often do you have to water EarthBox?
Don’t be fooled, you still need to make sure you are providing enough water through the fill tube. Depending on your location or crop, you may need to water your boxes up to three times a day.
Can you plant seeds in an EarthBox?
If you would like to plant seeds directly into the EarthBox, you can easily grow plant varieties like cucumbers, squash, corn and beans. Remember to not overcrowd your EarthBox® Container Garden. For best results, do not mix different types of plants in one EarthBox system.
How many tomato plants can I put in an EarthBox?

How often do you add water to EarthBox?

How do you winterize an EarthBox?
Simply wipe down the inside of the EarthBox® container with a 10:1 water/bleach solution (10 parts water, 1 part bleach). You can wipe down the screen and fill tube as well. Along with winterizing your EarthBox® garden, you may also want to take the time to spruce up your patio, deck, or plant stands, as needed.
Can you use compost in EarthBox?
You can also just put it in your compost pile. You’ll need 2 cubic feet of potting soil per Earthbox. Fill it up to 2″ below the rim.
