- Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Increase water intake several days before camp and maintain it throughout. Bring water everywhere and refill your water jug frequently.
- Focus on food and nutrition. You’ll need well-balanced meals with sustaining protein and energy-laden carbs.

- For Breakfast: Oatmeal, waffles, pancakes, bagels, low-sugar cereal, whole grain bread, fruits, Eggs, peanut butter, yogurt, cottage cheese, milk, lean meat (such as Canadian bacon or turkey bacon)
- Protein and carbohydrates are your best friends on performance days!

1) Fresh fruit Fresh fruit is perfect before a show because it’s rich in vitamins, minerals, and natural antioxidants, boosting your energy levels without causing any side effects. You can eat fruit raw, juiced or combined with a source of fibers for a healthy snack before the show.

Just like fruit, veggies can be a perfect marching band snack. Celery sticks, carrot sticks, broccoli, cucumbers, and cauliflower can be perfect throughout the day and you can include a dip such as ranch depending on the time and setting.
How do you stay cool in band camp?
If possible, immerse the person’s body in cold water, or place ice packs under the arms or near other circulation pressure points. Even spraying the victim with cold water and placing them directly in front of a fan will help some.
What Cannot eat before singing?
