What is an iOLM?

iOLM – intelligent Optical Link Mapper. Automated, expert-level singlemode and multimode fiber testing that eliminates the need to manually configure parameters or analyze and interpret multiple complex OTDR traces.

What is iOLM OTDR?

Intelligent Optical Link Mapping (iOLM) is a technology that automates the process of configuring the OTDR to capture and analyze all the information on a fibre regardless of its length and the number of connectors and splices on the span.

What is an OTDR test?

An Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) is a device that tests the integrity of a fiber cable and is used for the building, certifying, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber optic systems.

How does IOLM work?

IOLM uses the data from your vehicle’s engine performance and monitors the operating conditions. It even takes your driving habits into account. These include towing, off-road driving, extended idling or low speed intervals.

How much dB loss is acceptable?

While TIA standards specify a maximum insertion loss for connectors of 0.75dB, most manufacturers’ connectors have a typical insertion loss that ranges between 0.2 and 0.5dB.

How do you read OTDR results?

How to Read Your Trace. OTDR displays will show a Y and X axis. The X axis measures distance, and the Y axis measures attenuation and reflection in dB. Before running your trace, select the appropriate fiber network length, pulse width and acquisition time.

How do you test Orl?

The ORL can be found by pressing F3 View Details and paging down the screen. To see Reflectance, press F3 to view individual events and scroll down the page. The best low-reflectance connector is the angle-polished connector (APC). APC connectors specify reflectance of -65 dB or better.

What is pulse rate in OTDR?

In an OTDR, the pulse carries the energy required to create the backreflection for link characterization. The shorter the pulse, the less energy it carries and the shorter the distance it travels due to the loss along the link (i.e., attenuation, connectors, splices, etc.).

What is 20dB loss?

When you compare cable performance and a manufacturer states that the attenuation (power loss) for a cable operating at 100MHz, with a length of 90 meters is 20dB, it means that the signal strength has dropped by a factor of 100.

What happens when oil life is at 0?

When oil life reaches 0%, service on your vehicle’s engine is now overdue. By driving with degraded oil, your Honda’s engine may fail or significant damage may be caused.
