How OpenTSDB works?

OpenTSDB consists of a Time Series Daemon (TSD) as well as set of command line utilities. Interaction with OpenTSDB is primarily achieved by running one or more of the TSDs. Each TSD is independent. There is no master, no shared state so you can run as many TSDs as required to handle any load you throw at it.

How do I open OpenTSDB?

d/opentsdb that can start, stop and restart OpenTSDB. Simply call service opentsdb start to start the tsd and service opentsdb stop to gracefully shutdown.

Who uses OpenTSDB?

5 companies reportedly use OpenTSDB in their tech stacks, including serverdensity, SAYMON, and Cloudinsight.

What is Kairos db?

KairosDB is a fast and open source time series database that can use ScyllaDB as the primary storage backend. Data is sent to KairosDB via multiple protocols such as Telnet, Rest, and Graphite. It features an intuitive web interface for users to run queries against the database backend.

Is Apache Druid time series?

Official definition:- Apache Druid is a real-time analytics database designed for fast slice-and-dice analytics (“OLAP” queries) on large data sets. In simple words, say your business or platform is generating huge amounts of data every second and you are sitting on a goldmine of data.

Why HBase is faster than Hive?

To simply state, Hive performs batch processing operations that take a while to process and give a result. Whereas, Hbase is mostly used for fetching or writing data which is relatively faster than Hive. Hive is a SQL-like query engine that runs MapReduce jobs on Hadoop. HBase is a NoSQL key/value database on Hadoop.

Is HBase good for analytics?

HDFS is most suitable for performing batch analytics. However, one of its biggest drawbacks is its inability to perform real-time analysis, the trending requirement of the IT industry. HBase, on the other hand, can handle large data sets and is not appropriate for batch analytics.

Is MongoDB good for IoT?

MongoDB, with its ability to efficiently handle and blend IoT and operational data in real-time, helps you to rapidly capture the most value from IoT.

Why is Druid so fast?

Druid maintains a per-segment query cache on the brokers which helps in quickly returning the results. It also caches data in historical and real-time servers for faster scans.

What is Druid DB good for?

Druid is commonly used as the database backend for GUIs of analytical applications, or for highly-concurrent APIs that need fast aggregations. Druid works best with event-oriented data. Common application areas for Druid include: Clickstream analytics including web and mobile analytics.

Is ClickHouse secure?

ClickHouse is fast; it’s stable; it includes security-enhancing features that keep your data and your clients’ information safe and secure. The new ClickHouse Hardening Guide walks users through reducing your ClickHouse database’s exposure and keeping unwanted visitors out.

How do I access opentsdb settings?

To access OpenTSDB settings, hover your mouse over the Configuration (gear) icon, then click Data Sources, and then click the OpenTSDB data source. The data source name.

How can I generate a graph from opentsdb?

Thus OpenTSDB offers a built-in, simple user interface for selecting one or more metrics and tags to generate a graph as an image. Alternatively an HTTP API is available to tie OpenTSDB into external systems such as monitoring frameworks, dashboards, statistics packages or automation tools.

How does opentsdb communicate with TSDS?

All communications happen on the same port (the TSD figures out the protocol of the client by looking at the first few bytes it receives). The first step in using OpenTSDB is to send time series data to the TSDs.

What is a collector in opentsdb?

A collector is a program that will fetch and feed data to TSD. All communications happen on the same port (the TSD figures out the protocol of the client by looking at the first few bytes it receives). We can write data in OpenTSDB using Telnet style API or using HTTP Post request.
