What do you do if you lose something on a train?

If you have lost an item on the train, you will need to contact the station where that train terminated. As CrossCountry do not directly manage any stations, any luggage left that has been found on our trains is safely stored at the station where your train terminates.

How long does it take for TfL to return lost property?

Be warned, it can take up to 7 working days for your item to get through the network to be registered at the LPO. Then, simply wait for an email response back. Top tip: don’t get in touch with the lost property team via phone or email after you’ve submitted an enquiry.

We provide Lost Property services for Network Rail, Mainline Stations & Southern Rail only. Please contact the station where you lost your item directly. We are only able to assist with items lost at the above listed mainline stations. We do not provide Lost Property service for the London Underground.

Do you provide Lost Property Services for Southern rail?

We provide Lost Property services for items lost on trains (regardless of their termination point) for Southern Rail & Gatwick Express only. Rail Station not listed? If your station is not listed we do not provide lost property services for that station and will not be able to assist. We recommend you contact the relevant station direct.

How do I report a lost item on the London Underground?

You are welcome to log a Lost Item Enquiry via our site in addition to contacting the relevant Station / Train Operator as there is the possibility that your item could have been handed in to one of our Lost Property Offices upon the train’s termination at final destination. We do not provide Lost Property service for the London Underground.
