Can I rewrite my matric after 16 years?

You can also re-enroll for your Matric year, and retake the end of year exams, up to 5 years after you completed Matric. If you Matriculated more than 5 years ago, you can apply for an Amended Senior Certificate.

Can I rewrite matric after 3 years?

If you choose to take your subjects three per year or two per year, you will take two or three years respectively to complete your Matric. However, if you are doing a Matric Rewrite, you can register for your rewrite in January/February, and you will write the exams in May/June.

Can I rewrite my matric online?

Does matric certificate expire?

This sounds to me like bureaucracy gone mad, there is no facility to renew both one’s Matric certificate and one’s tertiary qualifications. Both these cases should, IMHO, be referred to SAQA who should be asked to confirm in writing that such qualifications cannot expire.
