How does an Oxypot work?

How does the Oxypot grow system work? In an Oxypot grow system, the net pots hang into the tanks of bubbling nutrient solution where plants’ roots are constantly fed and get access to optimum amounts of oxygen.

What is RDWC hydroponics?

RDWC Application Recirculating Deep Water Culture is a method used to grow plants with roots submerged in a highly oxygenated nutrient solution. By using the ALIEN® RDWC hydroponic system, you can optimise maximum growth potential. The super oxygenated nutrient solution is constantly recirculating around the system.

Which is better RDWC or DWC?

Much like it’s cousin, the bubble bucket, the recirculating deep water culture system (RDWC, better known as DWC) quickly grows plants in a near ideal environment. The main difference is that the system supports multiple sites and allows you to grow a much larger crop of the same plant with far easier maintenance.

What is the difference between DWC and RDWC?

The biggest difference between DWC and RDWC is that DWC has a single reservoir that also houses the grow site(s). That said, DWC units may have anywhere from 1 grow site to as many as 12. RDWC works in the exact same fashion, with the addition of a water pump.

How many GPH do you need for RDWC?

How many GPH do you need for RDWC? Many experienced hydroponic gardeners recommend running between 800 and 1200 GPH through RDWC systems. That said, for each individual container in an RDWC system, a minimum of approximately 80 GPH of water is required for healthy and thriving plants.

How often do you change water in a RDWC system?

It is recommended to perform a full nutrient change out every 7-14 days.

What is better DWC or RDWC?

How big should a hydroponic reservoir be?

As a general rule of thumb when growing hydroponically, small plants require at least ½ gallon per plant, medium plants 1 ½ gallon and large plants 2 ½ gallons.

What ppm is RDWC?

HOW TO DECIPHER YOUR RUNOFF RESULTS

HYDROPONIC
Seedling 400 – 500 ppm 1 – 1,2
Transition 550 – 650 ppm 1,3 – 1,5
Vegetative Stage 650 – 750 ppm 1,6 – 1,7
Vegetative Stage 750 – 800 ppm 1,7 – 1,8

Can you refill Kratky?

Can You Refill Your Kratky Reservoir? Yes, if you notice that your plant’s roots aren’t touching the water, there is no harm in refilling your Kratky reservoir.

Can I use tap water for hydroponics?

So to answer the original question…can you use tap water for hydroponics? Yes, yes you can – if you treat it properly beforehand! If it has a high PPM, consider running it through a filter or mixing in distilled or reverse osmosis water to dilute the concentration.

How often do you change water in RDWC?

What grows well in Kratky?

The Kratky works best with leafy greens, plants that enjoy a fast-growing rate. These include lettuces, spinaches, herbs. You can also grow larger plants like tomatoes or peppers, but you will need a larger container.

How often do you change water in Kratky method?

Hydroponic water needs to be changed every 2-3 weeks in a traditional system. When the container is half empty of water, refill with some regular water, no nutrients. This will prevent pockets of hypernutrition.

What is an oxypot?

There’s only one pot you want – the Oxypot. Everyone’s raving about them! Plants grow in a mesh pot filled with clay pebbles. Roots grow out of the mesh pot, straight into an oxygen rich nutrient solution. This gives them a constant, unlimited supply of nutrients and plenty of oxygen .

Where can I find assembly instructions for oxy-pots?

Full assembly instructions are available in the downloads tab. Plants started in rockwool cubes, root riots or jiffys can be transplanted into an Oxy-Pot. Make sure that they are root bound before transplanting. Avoid using any nutrients that are organic -active systems and biological ingredients don’t mix well.

What if my oxypot isn’t the right size for me?

If this isn’t the right size for you, try one of our other Oxypots: Full assembly instructions are available in the downloads tab. Plants started in rockwool cubes, root riots or jiffys can be transplanted into an Oxy-Pot.

What plants can be transplanted into an oxy-pot?

Plants started in rockwool cubes, root riots or jiffys can be transplanted into an Oxy-Pot. Make sure that they are root bound before transplanting. Avoid using any nutrients that are organic -active systems and biological ingredients don’t mix well.
