How many samples can Octatrack hold?
You can load 128 samples for Static machines, and 128 for Flex machines (if i’m not mistaken, and you have enough RAM). You can then freely assign these to the 8 sample channels for each part. One bank (16 patterns) contains 4 parts. Each part has their own 8 sample channels.

What sample rate for Octatrack?
44.1kHz
Well, because the Octatrack prefers its samples to be 16‑bit, 44.1kHz, that’s why. It will play back 24‑bit samples from Flex machines, but as there’s only 64Mb of Flex RAM, and 24‑bit equals larger file sizes, it makes sense to stick to 16‑bit and have all samples available to both machine types.
Does Digitakt come with samples?

Are Octatrack tracks stereo?
The Octatrack MKII can be treated as a small mixing desk for your whole setup, making use of the unit’s configurable two stereo inputs, and main, cue, and headphone outputs. Then connect external MIDI gear and let the machine orchestrate proceedings via dedicated tracks.
How good is the Digitakt?
As the Digitakt is so heavily focused on sampling, it’s easy to overlook that it’s actually a pretty powerful MIDI sequencer as well. Each pattern has eight MIDI tracks that can be used to sequence external synths or plug-ins with up to four notes of polyphony per track.
Is Digitakt a good drum machine?
Some people might be wary of paying $679 for a drum machine that doesn’t have analog sound, but not only is sound quality not an issue, the Digitakt makes a nonsense of the idea that an analog drum machine is better in any way.
Does model cycles have overbridge?
It facilitates the sound adjustment of the 6 available tracks. Plus it lets you automate all parameters in your DAW that opens new sound design possibilities. As long as there is no overbridge for the model series (samples, cycles), this is a good alternative to get a “total recall” like workflow.
