What is an embroidery block?
An embroidery block is a small block used to hand-print a design outline onto a ground cloth. It is normally c. 3-5 cm in size and can come in a variety of shapes, such as squares or triangles.
Should you quilt over embroidery?

What is an ith pattern?
ITH Patterns are digital files you load onto your Embroidery Machine. There is NO paper pattern to print off. You copy and paste them out of your zip folder and onto your computer/stick drive or directly to the machine (File Transfer depends on your machine make).

Can you make a blanket out of cross-stitch?
You can leave the back of the cross-stitch exposed or you can sew a backing onto the cross-stitch blanket. You must make sure that all the stitches are tied off and that the threads are not loose.
Do you applique before or after quilting?
If you are doing a small, simple project, you may want to consider quilting it first then adding the appliqué. One consideration of quilting first and appliquéing later is that you will have to put the quilted project into your sewing machine to finish the edges of the appliqué pieces.
What is the difference between quilting and embroidery?
STRENGTH- Quilting thread is stronger than embroidery thread as it is designed to hold your blocks together for generations to come. Embroidery thread is designed for surface embellishment. Embroidery thread does not have the same strength and is not designed for seaming.
Can you use embroidery on quilts?
While an overall design is always an option, custom quilting embroidery quilts can really bring their elements to life. It doesn’t mean that the quilting must cover up the embroidery design. Instead, the quilting stitches follow the natural contours, shapes or color breaks in the design.
