Is EyeMed the same as VSP?
VSP and EyeMed are competitors. As such, they have different provider networks. Both VSP and EyeMed have a variety of vision insurance plans to choose from, with good ranges in price and coverage. To choose between the two, look at the different plans and provider networks.
Will EyeMed pay out of network?
Are out-of-network benefits covered? Out-of-network benefit coverage is provided, but members must pay for services first. Rather than use of out-of-network providers, EyeMed Individual and Family Vision Plan members already have access to a very large network of independent providers and retail locations.
How much are lenses at Costco?
When we checked prices over the phone at Costco Optical locations across the country in June 2022, we found that single-vision lenses start at $62 on average and frames start at around $49 on average. Based on these numbers, you can get a basic pair of prescription eyeglasses from Costco starting at around $111.
Why do I see better with glasses than contacts?
This means they bend light in a way that more accurately meets your prescription, and so if you switch from glasses to contacts, they can appear to slightly increase your visual acuity. Another reason contacts can appear to provide better vision than glasses is the fact that glasses are exposed to the elements.
How often should you switch contacts?
A disposable pair is intended for at least bi-weekly disposal. Lenses for frequent replacement need to be changed every 1-3 months. You can switch traditional reusable contact lenses around twice yearly, or every 6 months.
Is EyeMed part of Mutual of Omaha?
With a Mutual of Omaha company Medicare supplement insurance policy, members are entitled to valuable vision care savings offered through EyeMed Vision Care. The vision plan is automatically included with the supplemental plan and provides savings that cover eye care and eyewear.
What is the best vision you can have?

How do you get reimbursed by EyeMed?
You can now submit your form online or by mail. Don’t wait to submit your claim – forms must typically be submitted within 15 months of the date of service to receive reimbursement*. To access the out-of-network form or to check the status of a claim, log in to your Member Web account and navigate to the Claims tab.
