Who is eligible for RAMQ?

Persons eligible for the public plan Children under age 18 living in Quebec whose parents do not have access to a private plan. Children under age 18 temporarily living in Québec for more than 6 months. Persons age 65 and over who have not joined a private plan.

Does RAMQ coverage out of province?

When travelling or when outside Québec temporarily, persons holding a valid Health Insurance Card can receive healthcare services covered by the Québec Health Insurance Plan. However, in most cases, RAMQ reimburses only part of the cost.

Is everyone covered by RAMQ?

Everyone who is permanently settled in Québec must have prescription drug insurance coverage at all times. Any child under age 18 temporarily staying in Québec for more than 6 months must also be covered.

How can I renew my Medicare card?

Replacing your lost, stolen or damaged card If your Medicare card is lost, stolen or damaged, you can ask for a new card. You can do this by: using your Medicare online account through myGov. the Express Plus Medicare mobile app.

What is not covered by RAMQ?

Examples of non-covered services (billable) Services rendered by the following professionals: acupuncturist, audiologist, chiropractor, occupational therapist, physiotherapist and psychologist. Services offered by professionals not participating in the plan.

How much do you pay for RAMQ?

$0 to $710 per person
In general, you pay an annual premium to Revenu Québec for coverage under the Public Prescription Drug Insurance Plan. The premium is: Variable, ranging from $0 to $710 per person, based on the annual rates in effect. Established according to your situation and net family income.

Does RAMQ cover hospital?

RAMQ does not administer the fees billed by health facilities ( e.g. hospitals, CLSCs , residential and long-term care centres, rehabilitation centres).

How much does the RAMQ cover?

In the end, you pay $35.46 ($22.25 + $13.21) of the $60 invoice. These rates are in effect from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023 for adults age 18 to 64….Example of payment of covered drugs at the pharmacy.

Can you use Quebec health card as ID?

Accepted identity documents We only accept the valid or expired original of the following documents: Québec Health Insurance Card or health insurance card from another Canadian province. Québec driver’s licence or driver’s licence from another Canadian province.

What happens if your Medicare card is expired?

Your old card will no longer be valid. We’ll send your new card to the address you give us, in 3 to 4 weeks. You can use a digital copy of your Medicare card in the meantime. Read more about how to get a digital card.

What is covered RAMQ?

RAMQ pays for services covered by the Health Insurance Plan when rendered to insured persons. Health professionals participating in the plan cannot bill you for these services. As well, you cannot be billed for any costs related to covered services, also called “accessory costs”.
