What rank is a S4?

Army S4 sections are typically led by commissioned officers, with senior and junior enlisted personnel, frequently called supply sergeants, handling most daily tasks. A major function of the staff officer in charge of a battalion’s S4 section is to efficiently manage the battalion’s budget.

What is an S4 officer?

S4 (Logistics Officer). The S4 is the principal staff officer responsible for maintenance, transportation, and supply and services for the battalion. He is responsible for developing logistical policy. He maintains accountability for operation and maintenance funds.

Can you quit the Marine Corps?

There’s no formal ELS application process; you need to approach your base command and they have to sign off on your request. The reasons are broad enough to give you some wiggle room, such as an inability to fulfill your duties as a Marine, or failure to adapt to the USMC environment.

How long does a permissive TDY take to retire?

20 days
Permissive Temporary Duty (PTDY) : If you are retiring you may be authorized up to 20 days of Permissive TDY (See AR 600-8-10 for clarification or for approval speak to your Command).

Do Marines get to keep their uniforms?

A person who is discharged honorably or under honorable conditions from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Space Force may wear his uniform while going from the place of discharge to his home, within three months after his discharge.

Do you get paid for PTDY?

By “Permissive TDY” that means there is no transportation or per diem paid, but members are not charged for leave. Military members may request (from their commander) this permissive TDY anytime after they receive their written re-assignment orders.

Can you work on PTDY?

Service Members are not permitted to begin employment while in permissive TDY status. Service Members MAY work while on transition leave, even for the federal government.
