What is GEPIK in English?
GEPIK stands for Gyeonggi English Program in Korea. It was established in 2003 in order to provide English education to the region. There are currently over 1,000 foreign ESL teachers working for GEPIK.

Can I apply to Gepik and Epik?
You can apply to EPIK, GEPIK, GOE at the same time however each program will require you to submit a set of documents when securing a position.
Is it hard to get into Epik?

Is Gepik part of EPIK?

How long does it take to hear back from EPIK?
This process can take anywhere from 3-8 weeks depending on the time of year. Participants in the past who have waited until after their interview with EPIK to start this process have not been able to go because their background checks didn’t come back in time.
How selective is EPIK?
Here is the honest truth: the program is very competitive. We cannot tell anyone with confidence that they’ll be accepted onto the Korea program ahead of applying, no matter what their qualifications may be. You will have to pass two interview rounds before we can say with confidence you’ll be going to Korea.

Can I teach on the GEPIK program?
In order to teach on the GEPIK program, you’ll need a Korean E2 visa. This is granted after certain requirements are met and you can only apply for the E2 visa once your placement has been confirmed by GEPIK. They’ll send you a Notification of Appointment (NOA) number which you’ll need when applying for the visa.
What are the benefits of being a GEPIK teacher?
Anytime you successfully complete a one year contract, you’re entitled to an additional full month of extra salary as a bonus. GEPIK teachers who choose to renew their contract at the same school receive a bonus of 2 million KRW ($1,800 USD). GEPIK will pay 50% of your medical insurance premiums.
What qualifications do you need to apply for GEPIK?
A Bachelor’s degree (either 3 or 4 years) or above, in any subject, is essential. If you’re in your final year at university you can still apply to GEPIK, but you must submit a letter of expected graduation. You’ll be required to obtain an Apostille National Level Criminal Record Check (CRC).
