I have it mounted on a Marlin 336. The screws provided are long enough that they will press right onto the bolt. About 1mm must be sanded off the bottom of the screws to work. The forward hole on the 336 is even more shallow as that’s where the barrel sits in the receiver. So that particular screw requires the removal of about 2.
Is this mount on my Marlin 1895g 45-70 any good?
I mounted this today on my Marlin 1895G 45-70 and so far it seems a great product for the price. I’m rating this four stars because the screws strip out easily and the holes aren’t perfectly lined up. That being said, my rifle only required four mounting screws and this rail came with six, which allowed me to replace the striped screw.
