What is Betacort used for?
This medication is used to treat a variety of skin conditions (such as insect bites, poison oak/ivy, eczema, dermatitis, allergies, rash, itching of the outer female genitals, anal itching). Hydrocortisone reduces the swelling, itching, and redness that can occur in these types of conditions.
How do you use Astrocort?
Smooth a little ARISTOCORT on the problem area three or four times a day. Use just enough to cover the area without forcing or causing discomfort. Do not rub or stretch the skin. If you are using ARISTOCORT cream, use enough to disappear into the skin without leaving any on the skin.
What does triamcinolone do to skin?
Triamcinolone is in a class of medications called corticosteroids. It works by activating natural substances in the skin to reduce swelling, redness, and itching.
What are the side effects of Betaderm?
Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur:
- increased skin sensitivity.
- lack of healing of skin condition.
- ongoing burning, itching and irritation of skin.
- itchy rash with small, red, raised bumps.
- skin discolouration.
- skin infection.
Can I put betamethasone on my face?
Do not use betamethasone skin products on your face unless a doctor has told you to. The skin on your face is delicate, so if betamethasone skin treatments thin the skin or damage it, it’s particularly noticeable. If your doctor tells you that you can use betamethasone on your face, follow their instructions carefully.
When do you apply Betaderm?
This medication is usually applied once daily in the morning, or twice daily (in the morning and at night) as directed by the doctor. The treatment should be stopped when the condition is cleared. The medication should not be continued for a period longer than 4 weeks without further consultation with your doctor.
