How do you break in R1 rotors?
How to break in new brake rotors and pads
- Engage hard braking at 40 mph. Do not come to a complete stop.
- Go 50 mph and jam the brakes just to the point of engaging ABS all the way down to 10 mph.
- Then go 65 mph and slow the car down to 15 mph to finish it up.
- Park the car and let the brakes cool down for 20 minutes.
Are R1 brakes any good?
Performance is great. Definitely notice a difference in the initial bite when braking, nearly bounced my forehead off the steering wheel the first couple of stops. Braking from high speed has also been improved. They seem to dissipate heat well, with improvement in brake fade.
Are eLINE rotors any good?
As expected with this style of rotor, they are noisier than stock, you hear em “hum” when slowing down. Worth it, once you get em broken in(just drive like a normal person for the first couple hundred miles), these brakes STOP. Great pedal feel, no brake-fade during hard driving. And they look awesome.

They will stay black (or relatively black) for about the first 100 miles… Yeah they come off pretty quickly. It doesn’t look so great once the paint or coating comes off.

Brembo rotors are always a great product. I run nothing else on my cars (track and daily drivers). Great prices here on Amazon and free shipping. The Brembo boxes were a little damaged from shipping but product was unharmed so I only wish they were packed a little better.
