Een ecocheque is maximaal twee jaar geldig. U kunt de cheques dus evengoed twee jaar opsparen om bijvoorbeeld één duurdere investering in energiebesparing te doen. U kunt de geldigheidsduur van een ecocheque niet verlengen. Een ecocheque kan niet in geld worden omgeruild.
