Can you tune a piano by yourself?

It’s impossible to tune a piano without a few basic, specialized tools. At minimum, you will need to purchase three things: Tuning lever. Electronic chromatic tuner.

Here is a basic step-by-step guide for piano tuning:

  1. Set up.
  2. Prep middle C.
  3. Tune one string of middle C.
  4. Set the pin.
  5. Tune the rest of the notes in the octave.
  6. Tune the first unison string.
  7. Tune the rest of the unisons in the octave.
  8. Tune each octave to the temperament.
