What is Ni in Japanese?

に (ni) indicates a place towards which someone or something moves. It is preceded by the name of the place and followed by a verb that indicates a moving action such as iku (行く) “to go.” It is also used with giving/receiving verbs and can then mean “from”.

When to use NI vs wo?

If put very simply, wo is the default one that defines the verb done by the subject. ni on the other hand is the one you use when the subject is affected by an action.
