Do FOX shocks require maintenance?

FOX recommends regular maintenance such as checking nitrogen pressure, settings, bushings/Heims/reducers, and cleaning the shock bodies and shaft base every 500 miles for off-road applications.

When should a FOX rear shock be serviced?

Fox recommends that the minimum suspension fork and shock service is 125 hours of use, yearly, or whichever comes first. That is certainly on the longer side of things. Similar to changing the oil in your car, the more frequently you service your suspension, the better the fork will perform for longer.

Its not to be used on forks… It will damage the seals… Just used normal warm water to clean the outside then if you can have a tech pop the seals and use a proper fork oil that is synthetic based to lube it…..

Put on your gloves and place a shop towel through the body eyelet to prevent the air sleeve from coming off. Use a strap wrench to turn the air sleeve counterclockwise. YOU MAY HEAR A VERY LOUD POP WHEN REMOVING THE AIR SLEEVE! This is normal on a “stuck down” shock. Finish unscrewing the air sleeve by hand and pull it back from the shaft.
