Is Cavtat worth visiting?
It really is well worth a visit for a break from the crowds in Dubrovnik. It’s about a 40 minute bus ride. We took a boat transfer back, well worth it for fresh air and a scenic approach to Dubrovnik city walls. Cavtat has a scenic old town with many old churches.
Is it better to stay in Dubrovnik or Cavtat?
Cavtat is a little cheaper than Dubrovnik, but you shouldn’t have a problem finding an apartment in Dubrovnik for 2 people for under 100 Euros per night. The problem with Cavtat is that the ferry boat to Dubrovnik costs about 10 Euro per person each way, so that will add up quick if you are traveling back and forth.

This is a great place to visit, plenty of nice restaurants and bars, great place to watch the world go by and see all the visitors landing from the small boats you can get from and to Dubrovnik. I would highly recommend Cavtat to everyone.
