How hard is Chambers Bay golf Course?
In the Amateur, Chambers Bay proved to be hard, both in the firmness of its dry fescue turf (Jones called his fairways, “hardwood floors”) and its difficulties around and on the windswept greens. For the U.S. Open, the firmness and surrounds were more manageable, but the greens were notoriously bumpy.

Chambers Bay is a walking-only course. While the use of a caddie is not required, our experienced caddies can help you get the most out of your round with yardage information, club selection and detailed knowledge of each carefully crafted hole.

Chambers Bay is home to two practice centers available for use to those playing and those looking to practice. Use of the Warm Up Range (by the turnstand and 1st/10th tee) includes a full driving range with putting and chipping areas. The use of this range is included with your green fee.

A caddie on the PGA Tour receives a base salary — usually around $1,000 to $2,000 — to cover travel expenses. He will earn 5% of the winnings if his golfer finishes outside of the top 10 and 7% of the winnings for a top-10 finish. The caddie earns 10% of winnings when his golfer wins a tournament.
