How thick is Amtico LVT?
Thickness depths between 2 to 5mm depending on collection and installation type. Wear layers that range from 1mm to 0.3mm, for a variety of commercial uses.
What is the difference between Amtico and Spacia?
With a professional fitter, both ranges should be straightforward to install with minimal hassle. The only difference between Signature and Spacia in terms of installation is the quantity that you buy. Amtico Spacia is sold in ready-to-go packs therefore it is likely that you may have to slightly over-order.

What ply is Amtico?
Plywood should be a minimum of 6 mm thickness with a Plywood classification EN636-2 or 3, and a glue bond classification EN314-2 Class 3 Exterior. The thickness selected should be determined by the quality of the surface being covered. Panels should be acclimatised to the site conditions as recommended by the supplier.

How thick is Karndean flooring?
Should Amtico flooring have gaps?
From my experience with amtico flooring this happens when there are temperature fluctuations. Usually the gaps appear when it’s cold outside. Gap filler will do the job but have to be a good one.
Why is Amtico so expensive?
Yes, amtico is generally more expensive than Karndean. It would be an educated guess to assume that this is due to a more expensive manufacturing process and the fact it is made in the UK. Perhaps also, the heritage of the company comes into play here. Either way, expect to pay more for Amtico.
How thick is karndean flooring?
Can Amtico be laid on plywood?
Amtico tiles cannot be fitted directly to raised floor panels. Where this is required, the panels should be level and stable, and then overlaid with plywood, using appropriate fixings to suit the panels surface – see section on Plywood Overlays.

Can you lay Amtico on concrete?
Tiles must only be installed on suitably dry concrete or sand and cement subfloors. Drying time will depend on several conditions, including thickness of slab, location, type of construction, temperature and humidity.
