Any big fish baits will catch tope but my favourite is fresh mackerel, either fished as a flapper, or as a live-bait. Tope have big mouths so don’t be afraid to use big baits. Half mackerel and mackerel fillets also work well too, especially if the fish are being finicky with larger baits.
