What are panaeolus spores?

Psilocybe genera spores, provided hydrated in aqueous solution. Spores are supplied in 10cc B-D syringes with removable sterile tip cap attached and a sterility packaged 1.5 inch 16 gauge needle.

What does a spore print tell you?

Spore Print: Spore prints reveal the colour of the mushroom’s spores, which can be diagnostic. To make a spore print from a mushroom, remove the stipe (stem) and place the cap, gill side down, on a neutral-coloured piece of paper. If the gills are light, try a dark-coloured piece of paper.

Can you inoculate with spore print?

Assuming that you have a spore print (after following the above instructions) you can use it to cultivate and grow your mushrooms. This can be done by creating a spore syringe, where the spores are re-hydrated using sterile water and then used to inoculate the growing medium.

Can you keep spore prints?

To preserve your spore print: Spore prints can be preserved on paper or foil by spraying them lightly with an artist spray. Hair spray works well, too! If you’re feeling artistic, why not let the spores “float” down onto the paper in patterns resulting from air currents in the room?

How do you identify Panaeolus?

The Genus Panaeolus

  1. A dark brown to purple-brown or black spore print.
  2. Small size.
  3. Grayish, brown, or blackish caps that are usually conic or bell shaped.
  4. Gills that become mottled with shades of gray and black as the spores mature.
  5. Spores with an apical germ pore.
  6. A “cellular” pileipellis.

How long does a spore print last for?

Spore prints have been known to last 18 years! Perhaps longer but this is the longest we are aware of from our customer feedback and our network. Spore syringes do not last as long because eventually the water develops bacteria. A general guideline is 8 to 12 months.

Where should I store spore prints?

There is a variety of ways to store your mushroom spore prints but the most common and simple method is to put the print in a ziplock bag, sealed and let it sit in the fridge. You can even simply keep them in file folder or any location that is clean, dry, and average temperature.

Is Panaeolus a magic mushroom?

Panaeolus cyanescens is a potent psilocybin mushroom and is similar to Panaeolus tropicalis. (Berk. & Broome) Sacc.

Is Panaeolus poisonous?

Mushroom spore prints can be studied with a microscope for comparison and identification. The best way to make spore prints last is to store them on glass slides in a cool dark place. If you follow these guidlines a properly stored spore print can last years.

Can spore prints be frozen?

You might freeze them for a few days to kill off bugs or keep them in the freezer. You should place sauteed mtishtoorrfs in air-tight containers in serving-sized portions and freeze them.
