According to the Mobil 1 website the M1-113A is the part number that supersedes the M1-113. Who really knows what changed, but M1-113 is old stock at this point (not that there’s anything wrong with that). Look at the link in post 2. The new ones are OK still from the looks of it.

What’s the difference between M1 212 and M1 212A?
I was hoping that these were the original, higher quality OEM filters (M1-212) but they are the cheaper, lower quality replacement filters (M1-212A). The “A” uses a lower quality medium so I returned them. In the description it says MOBIL 1 M1-212 Extended Performance Oil Filter (Pack of 2).
