What size wakeboard binding do I need?
Almost all modern wakeboards use standard M6 mounting hardware and 6″ binding plates that are universally compatible across all brands.
Do all wakeboard bindings fit all wakeboards?
Don’t worry, most wakeboard bindings will fit on most wakeboards, you just may not be able to use every stance option on the wakeboard. In some cases you now have larger stance width options.
Are wakeboard bindings one size fits all?
An open-toe binding is the best option if you are buying a wakeboard that will be used by multiple riders. The open-toe bindings fit a general size range (ex. 8-12) whereas a closed-toe binding fits a single shoe size.
What size are large wakeboard bindings?
Today there are three different sizes: 6, 7 and 8-inch spreads. Even with these three different sizes, most of the time the bindings will fit your wakeboard. But these different sizes could limit your stance variety because wider spreads might mean a wider stance.
Should wakeboard bindings be tight?
It is important to have the right size boot for wakeboarding. Controlling your wakeboard with loose fitting boots is like trying to run in high heels – you don’t have much control. Your boots should fit tightly, but not be painful. Most bindings are designed to fit a range of shoe sizes.
What happens if your wakeboard is too small?
A wakeboard that is too big will feel heavy and hard to maneuver, while one that is too small will sink further into the water and feel somewhat unstable. Bindings are the most important part of your whole wakeboard setup.
Does wakeboarding translate to snowboarding?
Snowboarding and Wakeboarding are two sides of the same coin. They do have distinct differences, but the sports are surprisingly similar. They both involve extreme balance while using a board to slide across some surface, and they are both essentially solo activities.
How far apart should your feet be on a wakeboard?
Through my years of experience as a professional rider and coach I have found that a solid starting stance angle is 12 degrees ‘ducked’ if riding with a stance width of slightly wider than shoulder width apart.
What angle should wakeboard bindings be?
15- to 27-degree angle
Front Binding – Pointing towards the front of the board at a 15- to 27-degree angle (two to three holes from the center of the binding plate). Place at a natural distance from the rear binding.
