A Discussion Web is a graphic organizer that helps students arrange evidence they have gathered primarily from readings.

Steps to Discussion Webs:

  1. Distribute a selected reading to the class.
  2. Ask the class to identify the main question of the text.
  3. Divide the class into small groups of 3 or 4 students.
  4. Ask the groups to write down at least 3 reasons for answering the question “Yes” and 3 reasons for answering the question “No.”
