Can I use vinegar to descale Moccamaster?
A simple way to de-scale the machine is to use household vinegar mixed with water as below: Mix half a litre of vinegar and half a litre of water and pour into the water reservoir and start the machine. After this cycle is complete, rinse out with two cycles of water. Done!
Why is my Moccamaster leaking?
If the footplate is not used, a very slow drain of the brew basket can occur. This can cause the brew basket to overflow or even cause brewing coffee to slowly drizzle down the side of the bracket and make it appear that the tower is leaking.
How often should you descale your Moccamaster?

Descaling any household appliance that uses water is important as it increases the longevity and quality of your Moccamaster. We recommend using Durgol descaler after every 100 brew cycles (every pack of filter papers) or when the glass tube inside the reservoir becomes cloudy.
Why is my coffee sitting in the filter?
One of the biggest causes for overflowing coffee makers is a dirty brew basket—the outer plastic tray that holds your filter and coffee grinds in place. Give that a thorough scrub, making sure that water can flow through the basket at a good rate.
How do you fix a leaking coffee maker?
To remedy this issue, unplug the brewer and turn the brew tank upside-down over the sink. Next, press the dispensing valve, which is located on the bottom of the tank. Flush the valve with clean water for 30-seconds. Turn right side up; the build-up should be cleared.
Does Moccamaster come with filters?
Although you’ll probably never need one, the standard #4 Technivorm Moccamaster 13253 brew basket is also available for $19.50. A set of branded filter papers comes in the box with your machine — at least mine did. Stocking up on them is relatively affordable compared to other reputable suppliers, such as Hario.
Why does my Moccamaster keep overflowing?
There are too many coffee grounds in the brew basket – check the formula chart in the Coffee Brewing section of our FAQ to ensure you are using the proper ratio of grounds to water. Two or more paper filters are being used – use one filter.
What is the warranty on Moccamaster?

A warranty period of 60 months (5 years) applies to our filter coffee machines. This warranty includes all claims based on manufacturing faults, not user faults. After the warranty period, your Moccamaster can often still be repaired. However, this does involve research, repair, and transport costs.
