Do not heat your Magic Bag hot cold compress more than 3 times a day (see directions for each type of bag) so that the oat grains have time to regain their natural moisture. That’s why it’s best to purchase more than one Magic Bag hot cold compress so you can alternate for more frequent use.

Can a Magic Bag be overheated? Yes, a bag heated for longer than the recommended time will overheat, and will start to smoke and can even burn in flames. For safety, it is suggested to check the temperature after heating time of 3o seconds.

Long-grain rice is the preferred filler, be sure it’s NOT instant rice. However, you can also use other grains like beans, corn, wheat, barley, or millet. Dried Cherry Pits have also been used as filler.
Can you sleep with a wheat pack?
Don’t let anyone, particularly children or the elderly sleep with a wheat bag. Don’t use the wheat bag to warm your bed up, as it may spontaneously ignite. Don’t reheat the wheatbag before it has properly cooled. A wheatbag should be cooled down on a non-combustible surface before storing.
How do you freshen a Magic Bag?
Our Classic Magic Bags and large Warmy friends can be wiped with a damp cloth. They cannot be immersed in water. Our SPA, Sport Gel and Small Warmy friends all have removable exterior shells that can be removed for cleaning. The inserts containing grains cannot be washed since the grains cannot be immersed in water.
How do you heat up a Magic Bag without a microwave?
I don’t have a microwave; can I heat my wheat bag in the oven? It is not advised to heat a wheat bag in a conventional oven if a microwave is available, however, if wrapped in foil, your wheat bag can be heated for 15 minutes at 175c or 325f, turning every 5 minutes.

What happens if a wheat bag gets wet?
No. Because we use non-chemically treated food grade wheat if you overly wet the bag the grain will sprout. You can use a damp sponge to lightly clean the outside of the bag. If the Wheat Bag becomes a little damp then place into the microwave and heat for the recommended time.
