What is index separation?

Index separation is a separation method that converts images using stochastic square dots of equal size instead of elliptical halftones. Although an index separation isn’t right for every design, it does have many advantages for printers: No Moire!!!

How do you create a separation in Photoshop?

Color Separations in Photoshop – Channel Separations The Eye Dropper Tool will pop up with a dialog box with a slider. Using the Fuzziness Slider you can select more or less of a particular color hue. After you have the amount of color you would like to pull/separate- select the invert box.

What is indexed color Photoshop?

Indexed Color mode. Uses up to 256 colors. Indexed-color images are 8‑bit images. When converting into indexed color, Photoshop Elements builds a color lookup table (CLUT), which stores and indexes the colors in the image.

What is index printing?

Index Prints. Index prints are similar to contact sheets in that they conveniently show all the images on one page. The big difference is that they are made from a collection of digital files as opposed to a single roll of film. Images on an index print are often called “thumb-nails”.

What is index screen printing?

Index color prints print much easier than process color and every print looks the same. It is also easier to color match with index color. In fact, Index Color image are bright and high contrast. ( Figure 1) Index separations also work great and print equally as well on both light and dark shirts!

What are color separations in Photoshop?

The “separations,” individual channels printed in grayscale, are used to make printing plates or screens. The various levels of gray determine how much of that channel’s ink will be placed on the page in any given spot.

How do you separate colors?

A general rule of thumb is to make three piles of clothes: one for whites, one for light-colored garments, and one for dark-colored clothing. By washing these colors separately, you can avoid dark clothes bleeding onto light clothes and keep white garments from becoming dull and dingy.
