How do you qualify for the comrades?

In order to qualify to run the Comrades Marathon you need to run a standard marathon (42,2km) in a time of less than 4:50. Anything slower than a 4:50 marathon does not qualify. Interestingly enough, you don’t have to run a marathon to qualify for Comrades.

  1. You must submit your provincially approved club name and 2022 license number.
  2. You will need to complete the medical questionnaire (will be supplied via email after entering the event).
  3. You will need to run at least 1 qualifying race between 1 September 2021 and 12 July 2022.
