What is ultramid material?

Ultramid® A (unreinforced) is the material with the greatest hardness, rigidity, abrasion resistance and thermostability. It is one of the preferred materials for parts subject to mechanical and thermal stresses in electrical, mechanical and automotive engineering.

Is Ultramid A nylon?

Ultramid polyamides (Nylon) are exceptional for their high mechanical strength, rigidity and thermal stability. Moreover, Ultramid polyamides afford good impact resistance even at low temperatures, advantageous sliding friction properties and problem-free processing.

Is polyamide 66 the same as nylon 66?

Polyamide 6 (PA6) and Polyamide 66 (PA66) Polyamide 6 (PA6) is also known as Nylon 6 or polycaprolactam. It is one of the most extensively used polyamides globally. It is synthesized by ring-opening polymerization of caprolactam.

What type of material is PA66?

Poly (hexamethylene adipamide), Polyamide 66, or Nylon 66 (PA66) is an engineering-grade thermoplastic. PA66 has higher strength but lower impact resistance than PA6.

What is PPA plastic?

Overview. Polyphthalamide (PPA) is a semi-crystalline, aromatic polyamide. Compared to nylon 6/6, it is stronger, stiffer, less sensitive to moisture, and has higher thermal capabilities. It has significant chemical fatigue and creep resistance.

What is the use of nylon 66?

Nylon 66 is frequently used when high mechanical strength, rigidity, good stability under heat and/or chemical resistance are required. It is used in fibers for textiles and carpets and molded parts.

What is PA nylon?

Generally speaking, PA Nylon is a semi crystalline thermoplastic with low density and high thermal stability. Polyamides are among the most important and useful technical thermoplastics due to their outstanding wear resistance, good coefficient of friction, and very good temperature and impact properties.

What is PA6T 66?

DuPont™ Zytel® HTN High Performance Polyamide Resin — Zytel® HTNFR52G30NHF BK337 — PA6T/66-GF30FR. Zytel® HTNFR52G30NHF BK337 is a 30% glass reinforced, flame retardant, lubricated high performance polyamide resin with improved flow. It is also a PPA resin and it uses a non-halogenated flame retardant.

Is nylon 66 flexible?

The fibres of nylon 66 are 33% more resistant to abrasion than nylon 6, withstanding up to 60,000 cycles compared to 40,000 in the case of nylon 6. With low creep, and more crystallinity, nylon 66 is slightly more rigid, allowing good stretch recovery and higher abrasion resistance.
