Does WGI have an age limit?
Independent World Class Color guards may compete with performers of any age. Each color guard appearing in a WGI contest shall be prepared to show proof of age. International independent color guards are not bound by any age limit except for U.S. citizens performing with that group.

The 2022 Regional Event Calendars below feature over 60 events across three divisions culminating in the WGI World Championships in Dayton, Ohio. We are excited to host events in new cities this year, and return to excellent venues that have hosted in the past. We look forward to seeing everyone in 2022!

24 years of age
1.1 Color guards in the Independent A Classes from the United States composed of performers not over 24 years of age as of 12:01 AM on April 1, 2022, shall be permitted to compete in contests governed by WGI.
How long is a color guard show?
In the fall, the Color Guard performs with the Lancer Marching Band in a field presentation lasting about 7-8 minutes. Fall performances include home football games, rallies and field show competitions.
