What size is the brake caliper?

Most brake calipers only come in 2 main sizes. 108mm and 100mm.

How much space should be between calipers and rotors?

About . 2 mm or less.

What brakes are on Supra?

The 2020 Toyota Supra comes standard with 13.7-inch ventilated steel brake rotors up front, which are clamped down by large four-piston calipers. In back, there are single-piston floating calipers. Brembo is a reputable supplier of high-performance brake systems, so seeing Brembos on the Supra is no surprise.

How much clearance do you need between calipers and wheels?

Allow 3mm in all directions from the caliper to the wheel.

What is the minimum brake lining thickness?

3.2 mm
The steering axle brake lining/pad thickness shall not be less than 3.2 mm (1⁄8 inch) for air disc brakes, or 1.6 mm (1⁄16 inch) or less for hydraulic disc, drum and electric brakes.

Does offset matter for brake clearance?

to partially answer your question, a LOWER offset will usually give you MORE brake clearance. Wheel design plays a role as well. So if you theoretically had the same wheel, a 43 offset will give you better brake clearance than a 48 offset.

How do I know if my rotors will fit?

Call your local OEM dealer and ask for the original rotor sizes or OEM rotor/pads part numbers based on your vehicle’s VIN number (VIN# is referenced in your ownership papers). The dealership may not tell you the rotor size, but they will give you the genuine part numbers for your vehicle.

Are all calipers the same?

There are two main types of calipers, a single piston and a dual piston. Most front calipers are dual piston but many cars use single piston calipers on the rear, where less braking force is needed. Stepping on the brake pedal forces the master cylinder piston forward, compressing the brake fluid.

What offset do I need to clear Brembo brakes?

We can make a wheel at 40mm offset that clears Brembo, but most designs in the 38 to 45mm offset range will NOT clear factory Brembo if you leave that caliper in factory location near the hub on small rotors.

What is acceptable brake thickness?

What’s The Recommended Thickness Of Your Brake Pads? Ideally, your brake pads should be thicker than 6.4 mm (ΒΌ inches) for proper functioning. If it’s thinner than this, consider getting a replacement soon. Most car mechanics also agree that the bare minimum brake pad thickness is 3.2 mm (β…› inches).

How many mm are brake discs?

Brake pads should be changed before they wear down to 1.5mm. A new brake pad will be around 10mm thick. Most manufacturers and mechanics will all agree that you should probably replace your brake pads once they wear down to 3mm.
