What is an ISOFIX car seat?
Isofix cars have Isofix slots hidden behind the rear seats, in the joint between the back of the seat and the seat cushion. Some cars have a third Isofix attachment point, for a top tether, behind the rear seat to stop the child seat tipping forward in an accident.
Can you use ISOFIX with any car seat?
This depends on which car seat you have. The majority of infant carriers tend to fit in with a seat belt as well as ISOFIX, whereas some car seats aren’t ISOFIX compatible at all. In short, if your car seat has the option to fit in with a seat belt then no, you don’t need an ISOFIX base.
