How does Mylaps transponder work?

All X2 transponders have an internal battery. The battery charges while the transponder is being used in direct power mode. Unplug it, and it works just like a rechargeable transponder. You can also use the RaceKey and USB cable to charge the transponder directly, just like a rechargeable unit.

Why is my Mylaps transponder flashing red?

If the transponder is flashing red quickly (5 times per second), the subscription has expired. Please renew the subscription. When the LED of the transponder is flashing green, this means the battery is full.

Can I transfer a transponder to a new account?

You can request a transfer of transponder ownership from one account to another. Both account holders must provide consent through one of the following methods; SunPass Website, Mobile App, Mail/Fax, Walk-In Center or call the SunPass Customer Service Center at 1-888-TOLL-FLA (1-888-865-5352).

What transponders are compatible with Mylaps?

TR2 transponders are supported at every circuit and track that has a MYLAPS system installed.

How do you charge a Mylaps transponder?

In the box of the TR2 transponder, you find a cable and a cradle. Place the cable in the cradle you can plug the cable in your computer/laptop or a general power plug. It takes 5 hours to fully charge the TR2 transponder. When the transponder is in the cradle, the LED will be steady green.

How do I know if my transponder is working?

Ways to test your transponder: Drive through a tollbooth lane at a manned plaza – the toll collector will raise the gate if there is a successful read. Drive through an I-PASS Only lane on a ramp. If there is a blue or yellow light that blinks, your device is working.

Do you have to activate a transponder?

You must register your transponders and activate your account before driving. When the activation process is complete, your transponders will be ready to use on every tolled bridge, lane and road in California and $50 in toll credits will be added to your account.

go to Mylaps, login and click on “account settings”. scroll down to where it shows your transponder number, and click the red X to the right, which it the “unregister transponder” button.

Turn the ignition of your vehicle on and turn it off again. If you want to buy a renewal via your computer/laptop go to and go to choose your renewal. After you bought this renewal you have to activate the subscription via the Speedhive app on your mobile phone.
