What does Cocaethylene do to the heart?

Cocaethylene has considerably greater potency than cocaine, increasing the heart rate and blood pressure, which can lead to increased risk of stroke, arrhythmia and heart attack. Some studies suggest a 20-fold increased risk of a heart attack when cocaine and alcohol are used together.

Can you synthesize Cocaethylene?

Cocaethylene is synthesized in the liver by a transesterification reaction that replaces the methyl group of cocaine with an ethyl group.

Does alcohol affect half life of drugs?

Even though the plasma half-life of some drugs is decreased by chronic ethanol ingestion, the clinical determination of the mechanism is incomplete because few studies have measured drug metabolite levels. In addition, alcohol effects on drug distribution have not been studied very extensively.

Can you mix Coca Cola and beer?

Again, as with all beer cocktails, different amounts will lead to different results. A 50/50 mixture of beer and Coke will be extremely sweet, so suggest a ratio that uses less soda. As for the beer, keep it simple and not hoppy — try light lagers or caramel-like brown and amber ales.

What is the LD50 of Cocaethylene?

The LD50 of cocaethylene was 60.7 mg/kg and 63.8 mg/kg in female and male mice, respectively. In comparison, the LD50 of cocaine was 93.0 mg/kg in both female and male mice. These studies demonstrate that the cocaine-alcohol metabolite, cocathylene, is more potent in mediating lethality than the parent drug.

What is ecgonine used for?

Ecgonine methyl ester is the O-debenzoyl analogue of cocaine. It has a role as a central nervous system depressant, a peripheral nervous system drug, an analgesic, a metabolite, an opioid analgesic and a mouse metabolite.

What drug is like alcohol?

Numerous other central nervous system depressant substances have similar effects to alcohol. These include: Benzodiazepines, such as Valium (diazepam) Barbiturates, such as Seconal (secobarbital)

What drug has the shortest half-life?

This class of drugs has evolved from a drug such as amlodipine, with a long duration of action related to prolonged plasma half-life, to lercanidipine, which has the shortest plasma half-life relative to its intrinsically long duration of action.

What is Fanta and beer called?

Radlers, Shandies, and Spiked Beers These are simple drinks: just fresh beer mixed with a nonalcoholic soda or fruit drink. “Shandy” is an English term for any mix of beer and nonalcoholic soda or juice, and in German, Biermischgetränke indicates the same idea.

What is used to classify barbiturates?

Pharmacology. Barbiturates are a group of central nervous system depressants which produce effects ranging from mild sedation to general anaesthesia. Depending on how quickly they act and how long their effects last, they can be classified as ultra-short-, short-, intermediate-, and long-acting.

What is Eme drug?

EME (2,5-diethoxy-4-methoxyamphetamine) is a lesser-known psychedelic drug. It is a diethoxy-methoxy analog of TMA-2. EME was first synthesized by Alexander Shulgin. In his book PiHKAL, both the dosage and duration are unknown. EME produces few to no effects.
