How does Waterloo meal plan work?
If you have a meal plan and run out of meal plan dollars, flex dollars will be automatically used at Food Services locations (and all applicable savings will be applied). You can add more flex dollars on the Watcard website, with any Food Services cashier or at the Waterloo store in the Student Life Centre.
When was UW place built?
Construction began in July 1966 and was completed in 1968. Tensions between the university and the student community surfaced over the management and ownership of the Student Life Centre.
Are pets allowed in Waterloo dorms?
Pets are prohibited from all University buildings, except for apartments which fall under the Tenant Protection Act. This does not apply to service dogs for persons with a disability.
Does Waterloo have single rooms?
Choose a double room with privacy barriers or an en-suite washroom, or a traditional single room. All rooms have individual temperature control (heating and air conditioning), and an all-you-can-eat meal plan. You can hang out with friends in one of (or all of!)
Does UW Parkside have dorms?
Ranger Hall is a six-story, traditional-style co-educational residence hall can house just over 400 residents. Each room is designed to house up to two students. Most of the building is co-educational, with two single gender wings. Ranger hall is home to the vast majority of first year students living on campus.
What can I use my flex dollars on?
For students living in residence halls, flex dollars may be used as payment at convenience stores, campus restaurants, late night, and concession stands, or at the dining commons if you out of meal swipes for the week.
What can I use flex dollars for Waterloo?
Flex dollars are for non-Food Services purchases on campus, such as laundry, photocopying, the Bookstore and International News. Flex dollars can also be used at a variety of off-campus restaurants that we have partnered with.

What should I bring to my dorm?

Should I bring a microwave to college?
Except for late-night microwave meals, there’s really no need to bring a set of plates, cups and utensils to college. Same goes for small kitchen appliances, including coffee makers, which can take up a good chunk of desk space and are sometimes prohibited by the university residence hall guidelines anyway.
What is a super single dorm?
In the parlance of university residence life, it’s called a “super single”: a room big enough for two people, but reserved for one.
