Who makes Johnson Lifters?
The Johnson Lifters® name has been known within the industry for over 60 years. In 1954 Johnson began producing millions of lifters for General Motors and thus laid the foundation for a credible name in the market.
Are Johnson Lifters good?

Where are Delphi lifters made?
Delphi lifters are made in Mexico and the quality is good. You can get them from Summit for $3 each which is a great deal.
How do Rhoads lifters work?
Rhoads Lifters vary the cam (valve) timing by reducing the effective lift and duration at the lower end of the rpm scale, and then restoring the full lift and duration on the top. This is accomplished via a precision, patented internal groove.
What is the difference between LS1 and LS7 lifters?
Yes, the difference btween the stock LS1 lifters compared to the LS7 lifters is that the LS7 cup depth sits . 05 higher. This means, running a pushrod of around 7.35 should put you around stockish preload.
Is Melling a good brand for lifters?
I would never recommend this product or any other Melling product to anyone. They denied any liability for the lifters needing to be replaced, after 3 of them flying apart. They claimed the lifters were put into an “environment” conducive to causing lifter malfunction ( whatever that means ).

How do you set Rhoads lifters?
Insert pushrods securely into both intake and exhaust lifters for this cylinder only. Put rocker arms in place and make sure pushrod is securely in the rocker arm socket and ready to adjust. Tighten rocker arm nuts until all play or looseness is removed and the plunger in the lifter just starts to compress.
What car came with LS7 lifters?
Since ~2009 all chevy LS motors have had “ls7” lifters unless they are AFM models. Trucks, camaros, vettes, g8s, etc etc.
Can you put LS7 lifters in a LS1?
LS7 Lifters are now the stock replacement for LS1’s. There are better / pricier lifters out there but most feel the LS7’s are adequate. New trays are cheap – best to buy a set. The LS7 Lifters will work just fine.
