Who makes the shortest dropper post?

OneUp

Can I fit a dropper post on any bike?

A dropper post can be a great upgrade for any mountain bike, but it’s important to find one that’s compatible with your bike. Here’s a few things you’ll need to consider: Seat post width – you will need to identify the width of your existing seat post as this is the size you will need when choosing a dropper.

How do I know if my bike is dropper post compatible?

You can visually check from the outside with a tape measure to see if you have plenty of length to insert the dropper into your bike. But the best way is to mark this dropper insertion length onto your current rigid post from its end, then see if you can insert it far enough into your frame.

Do XC racers use dropper posts?

Dropper seatposts might have been popularized by enduro bike riders, but as brands have developed XC-specific options, the best short-travel dropper posts have now become increasingly prevalent on XC bikes, too.

Should I put a dropper post on a gravel bike?

Without teaching you to suck eggs, a dropper post is designed to move down and out of the way when you are approaching and riding steeper and rougher trails. A dropped dropper post allows you to alter your body weight on the bike in order to stay in control.

Is 150 mm dropper post enough?

The somewhere-in-the-middle 80-150mm travel posts are probably your best bet. Or are looking to spend a lot of time with your bike airing out over jumps, or dropping into super technical terrain where you just want the saddle completely out of the way? Then longer travel >150mm is probably your bag.

What is the lightest mountain bike dropper post?

BikeYoke Divine SL Dropper Post Claimed to be the lightest dropper post in the world, the Divine SL features just 80mm of travel. That might not sound like much (especially alongside BikeYoke’s own 185mm travel options) but for XC riders and racers, 80mm is likely to be sufficient.

Is it OK to clamp a dropper post?

Can I clamp to the dropper post? Yes. Just make sure you follow these guidelines: Make sure you fully extend your dropper post.

Should I store my dropper post up or down?

Always, always, ALWAYS, store your dropper post in the UP position. All dropper posts are driven up by some sort of spring, usually an air spring. In the Rockshox Reverb for example there is an air chamber that is inflated to 250 PSI, (Pounds per Square inch) when the seat post is in the maximally raised position.
