Should I buy a Taylor 814ce or Martin D28?
From the looks alone, you can tell that Taylor 814ce is a premium, luxurious guitar. On the other hand, Martin D28 is quite considerably bigger due to having a dreadnought body shape. The playability is good, but not as great as Taylor 814ce. There is a black pickguard that allows you to play hard without damaging the top.

The necks are obviously different on both (Martin/Taylor). Whether the switch is favorable for you…you need to try one out first to see. I had a Taylor 414 years ago, and the expression system caused problems.

While both guitars without a doubt were excellent I found the Martin to be a much better rhythm guitar with more unplugged volume and an ability to stay together even when driven hard. The Taylor on the other hand (while very good for rhythm when amplified) had a tendency to overdrive and fall apart when driven hard unplugged.
