Are color runs environmentally friendly?
Color-A-Thon events use a minimal amount of color which results in a low environmental impact. While the colored dust is not harmful to wildlife or vegetation, you should use leaf blowers to blow any excess color dust off of walkways to prevent it from being tracked into buildings.
Is color run color washable?

Removing Powdered Paint From Skin and Hair Color powder washes right out! Just take a shower, grab a bar of soap and some shampoo and you should be set! In our warehouse we use Dawn dishwashing soap to wash out the colored paint – it seems to do the trick on washing it out of skin.

It’s also a good idea to bring a change of clothes for the drive home. Put your phone in a Ziploc bag to keep the color dust from staining your case or getting into your phone. Participants with light-colored hair should consider putting coconut oil in their hair prior to the race to keep the color from absorbing.

Does Color Run powder stain clothes?
Color Powder washes out of most clothing but since we haven’t tested every fabric under the sun you may want to leave your favorite running clothes or evening dress at home. Dust off or blow off as much powder as possible before washing. You may want to wash your color branded gear separately in cold water.

If you don’t have a good colour run remover, a home remedy can also work well for shifting stubborn colour stains. Try adding a cup of distilled white vinegar to a bowl of cold water and soaking the stained area. Be sure to test a small area of the clothing first to check it won’t be affected by the vinegar.
