Prevena™ is a vacuum device that helps your wound heal quickly and protects it from infection. How does Prevena™ work? It makes a vacuum that helps hold the edges of a wound together and removes fluid from the area.
How does the Prevena incision Management system work?
The PREVENA™ Incision Management System protects the incision from external contamination, helps hold incision edges together, removes fluid and infection materials, and delivers continuous negative pressure at -125mmHg for up to seven days.
What does a prevena 125 do?
3M™ Prevena™ 125 and 3M™ Prevena™ Plus 125 Therapy Units manage the environment of closed surgical incisions and remove fluid away from the surgical incision via the application of -125mmHg continuous negative pressure.
How long does prevena 125 last?
This unit provides negative pressure continuously at 125 mmHg. The PREVENA PLUS™ 125 Therapy Unit has a fixed lifespan of 7 days and a rechargeable battery. Upon receipt of the therapy unit, the battery may not be fully charged. The dressing contains silver.
How long can a prevena stay on?
The device is single use and can stay in place for up to 7 days. Prevena is available in a range of sizes and can be customised to fit any incisions. Prevena uses a stabilisation layer to make sure there is full and airtight adhesion to the skin.

Can you cut prevena?
CAUTION: Do not cut the foam over the wound, as fragments may fall into the wound. Rub foam edges away from the patient to remove any fragments or loose particles that may fall into or be left in the wound upon dressing removal.
How do you shower with prevena?
Showering: If cleared by your doctor, a quick, light shower is ok. Keep the therapy unit away from direct water spray. Do not submerge dressing in water.
