What will disqualify you from being a correctional officer in Texas?

You must not have been discharged from the Armed Forces under dishonorable conditions. You must never have been convicted of a felony. See additional information. You must never have been convicted of an offense involving domestic violence.

Convicted felons (or those convicted of an equivalent offense under the Uniform Code of Military Justice) do not become eligible for consideration until 10 years have elapsed since termination of sentence.
