What is SA 36 material?

ASTM SA-36 is the most commonly used mild and hot-rolled steel. It has excellent welding properties and is suitable for grinding, punching, tapping, drilling, and machining processes. The yield strength of ASTM SA36 is less than that of cold roll C1018, thus enabling ASTM SA36 to bend more readily than C1018.

metengr as your respective opinion, A-36 and SA-516 Gr 70 will not qualify a welding procedure as the difference in strengths? and what do you say about the point made by Jstephen? Both of the materials you list can be welded to the pressure boundary but you need to have an MTR.
